In latin, the words man and soil have the same root, an indelible mark of our origins and of the eternal bond that unites us to this element. With its pure white skin and veins, in marble we can recognise human anatomy and discover the matrix of our lives. Does our essence reside in stone?
Beyond the skin, through the matter, hands carve the marble in search of primordial shapes. Pure forms that rest in stone. A sculpted naked body that reveals itself through the slit, reminding us of what we belong to. Is this the shape of our soul?
