Free from the ephemeral illusion of defying time through the arbitrariness of shape, Giorgio Rava's design practice becomes a quest for the essence. The depth and integrity of his vision, combined with his attitude for spatial design and the unique way in which he interprets detail and matter, merge together to define his work.

His holistic and creative approach reflects an ability to merge architecture, interiors and nature to create a single entity, elevating every project to a work of art, a spatial installation that challenges common aesthetic standards by breaking up conventional design codes.

In its essence, Giorgio Rava’s work reveals space as an earthly but at the same time spiritual experience, in which the rituals of everyday life find new meaning, opening up towards horizons of pureness and simplicity. In the silence that flows from his work echoes an austere elegance, tied to the earth but aspiring to the eternal, contemporary yet timeless. Stone and wood, light and shadow, water and fire are the custodians of his wish to nullify time and defeat the succession of ephemeral trends.

After studying architecture at the University of Florence and graduating in furniture and fashion design at the Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche in Faenza, in 2014 Giorgio Rava founded the studio that bears his name. His strong, highly distinctive work ranges from interior architecture to furniture design, also covering fashion design and creative direction.

Surrounded by the noise of contemporary times, the studio practice focusses on a continuous quest for silence. An authentic deeply-rooted vocation leads every single project, preserving the instinct of the artistic gesture and a sculptural approach to light, space and matter.

From the onset the practice has been recognized for a strong and highly distinctive language in which pure volumes, abstract and sculptural presences, do not renounce to being everyday life objects, merging together with pristine spaces and silent atmospheres. An approach in which silence and simplicity leave the word to spirituality, placing human being in the very centre of the project.

The work of the studio embraces a range of different design areas, ranging from product and furniture design, to architecture and interiors with a focus on high-end residential and retail projects, installations and exhibit spaces, corporate consultancy and creative direction, through a total approach. Besides private commissions, the studio also works actively with a number of important Italian design brands, including HenryTimi, Mk Cucine, Toscoquattro and Davide Groppi.
